Nashville, Learner’s Permit, and a New Car

I know Christmas is in a few days, but I stumbled across this post in my Drafts and had to publish it before the new year!

September came and went so fast, my head is still spinning! It was a month full of so many exciting things and I’m sharing them with you today!

We started the month off with one of the most special moments- Kylan got his learners permit!

Another big moment for us was purchasing a new car!

Another highlight of the month was going to our first NFL game. We prefer college football (when I say college, I really just mean the Vols because their hype and the fans are literally unmatched!) but we were so excited when my aunt asked if we wanted to meet up in Nashville for the Titans and Chargers game on the 17th.

We decided to leave on Friday to spend the whole weekend in Nashville, so we could enjoy every minute we could with our family. We arrived around 8 o’clock that morning and took our stuff to our room. We stayed at JW Marriott. The guy from the valet suggested a breakfast place down the street, so we walked to The Diner for a delicious meal. The view was beautiful.

Kylan thought it was so cool to see the Predators Arena.

We are big country music fans, so it was amazing to walk around and hear country music on every corner.

After we spent the morning walking around, we stopped at Walgreens and got some junk food. We went back to the room and napped while it rained outside.

That evening we got ready, went sightseeing, and then went out to dinner. We got an early start, around 4pm, but the bars and restaurants were already slam packed. Kylan used to be a big Florida Georgia Line fan, so when we saw their restaurant, we decided to give it a try. One thing I love about Nashville is the live music everywhere you go!

The nachos were *chefs kiss*.

I got their chicken sandwich and it was superb. Koby loved his pasta. Aaron and Kylan got the chicken and waffles, and my aunt ordered their pulled pork sliders.

After dinner we walked around sightseeing until the Chargers team arrived, then we met up with my aunt’s husband at their hotel. That’s when he took us to the conference room and introduced the boys to some of his players. More on that in a sec.

By the way, the view from our room at night was breathtaking. The photos just can’t do it justice.

The next morning, we woke up early to pack up our stuff and to get our car parked somewhere closer to the football stadium before it started to get crowded.

Disclaimer: We are absolutely Titans fans. In the NFL, our team is the Titans. When it comes to college football, we bleed orange. Go Vols! HOWEVER, our uncle is a coach for the LA Chargers. He was so incredible to get us a hotel room with a view of the entire city, he arranged for the boys to meet some of his players, he got us field passes and AMAZING seats to the game. Not to mention Chargers attire to wear. We cheered for both teams, and it was a great game that went into overtime. Our Titans took the win, but man, it was close!

We ran back to the car in the pouring rain with thousands of people. We finally made it to the parking garage and said our goodbyes. The rain cleared out and we had a beautiful drive home.

When we got closer to home, we stopped at Perkins off the interstate around 9pm. Hearing the boys talk about how much fun they had over French toast and pancakes was the perfect ending to the weekend. Nashville, you were perfect and worth the 86,000 steps I took in two days! Until next time.

As for the rest of September, I’ve been so consumed with schoolwork that there isn’t much time for anything else. I’m so thankful for my engineer husband that helps with all of my statistical reasoning assignments.

Other happy moments-
I got my first fall drink of the year. My go-to is the pumpkin cream cold brew. Cheering on our Vols. Slow mornings with homemade pancakes. Halloween coffee cups. Family outings for hot fudge sundaes. Fueling our bodies with home-cooked delicious food. Klara made our schools Girls on the Run team. The bestest doggies. Falloween decorations, because I never want to take down my fall decor when it’s time to put up the Halloween stuff. And nothing makes me happier in fall quite like Jordan’s homemade chicken pot pie.
