Puppy Adoption Birthday

We had so much fun at Klara’s birthday party this weekend. She wanted to have a puppy adoption party this year and I love how everything came together.

Every year we rent a shelter at a local park. I make sure to reserve a shelter that has a playground or the splash pad so the kiddos will be entertained. I like to be prepared so I try to have some fun things on hand for the kids to do. This year we set out bubbles that I picked up from Target, but I also had some chalk, coloring books, and a frisbee in my car as a backup plan.

ETSY and Amazon were my two go-to places for our party this year. I also picked up some balloons from Target and a few things from Party City.

Klara requested hot dogs this year so we used our crock pot to make enough for a crowd. My mom brought chili in her crock pot and we made sure we had all the condiments.

One of my favorite decoration pieces at this party was the Scooby Snacks we had set up. The kids loved snacking on them.

After we ate, the girls adopted a puppy! Once they picked out the perfect one, they painted a gable box to be their new pups dog house. I picked up the paint, paint brushes, glitter, etc. all at our local Dollar Tree. While they worked on their dog houses, I filled out their puppy adoption certificates.

While their dog houses dried, we had cupcakes and strawberry cake. We make the same strawberry cake for Klara’s party every year and it’s one of my favorite traditions!

Happy 7 years, Klara Faye!
