MOTIVATED MAMA ON A MONDAY

April 27, 2020

It’s 10 o’clock on a Monday morning and my heart is so incredibly full. In an upcoming post, you’ll see that we just bought a house. Our living room is full of moving boxes and our walls are bare as we get ready to embark on a new journey.

This morning I watched the news, put a roast in the crockpot for dinner, I have banana bread baking in the oven, and just received a sweet text from my husband. Sunlight is shining through the windows and I am reminded of God’s presence. I have a happy little girl rolling out of bed picking out her clothes for the day, dressing herself, and brushing her hair. She came through the living room and said, “What smells so good?” I have a feeling she will be the first one asking for a slice of banana bread.

I have a loving boy that said, “Good morning, mom!” as he tickled underneath my arm just to see me smile. I have another sweet boy that I am so grateful for as he continues to recover from osteomyelitis. The way he walks into a room towards me with his arms open to hug me each day melts my heart. He may be taller than me, but he’ll always be my baby. It’s still crazy to think that just 10 months ago he was in ICU and on a walker for several months.

For lunch I had chicken salad on a croissant and the kids had turkey, cheese sticks, and strawberries. I got Mother’s Day cards ordered, new address announcements ordered, some things gone through and packed up. I love the feeling of accomplishment as I check things off my to-do list.

It’s been a week since I’ve had a soda and have drank nothing but water. Water, sunshine, vitamins, and prayer are the things that have been keeping me healthy, both physically and spiritually, during this quarantine. In my next post I’ll be sharing precautions we have been taking and some fun things you can do as a family during this pandemic.

Days like today remind me why I chose to name this blog The Motivated Mama. It feels so good to be motivated and being a mama is the biggest gift God has ever given me.
