Klara’s 5th Birthday

Y’all, we have celebrated all day! I can’t believe it’s been FIVE YEARS since Klara was born. Sometimes the days can be so long, but the years go by so fast. This morning I woke her up by singing happy birthday. She woke up to pink balloons covering her bed and the couch in the living room. I had her new birthday shirt and birthday headband laid out on the living room table. When I asked what she wanted for breakfast she said, “Let’s go to the bakery!”We went to Party City and she picked out everything for her party this weekend. The girl has good taste! After Party City we went by Walmart for a few things. Iced coffee, avocados, unicorn pinatas. Ya know, the necessities. The birthday girl chose dinner and we had cupcakes afterwards.

The day we found out that you were a little girl was one of the happiest days of my life. After two boys, a little girl was exactly what I didn’t know we needed, but God had a special plan. You made our family complete. I love your admiration for pretty clothes, fancy jewelry, and I love your mama ways. The way you love to take care of others, the way you “decorate” and “organize” things, the way you carry on a conversation. The way your face gleams with excitement after you put on makeup or make something pretty. I want you to know that you have made my life extra special these last five years. I am so grateful that God chose me to be your mama. You will forever be my baked bean lovin’, lipstick wearin’, Target shoppin’, brown eyed girl. Mommy loves you. Happy 5th birthday!
