XBOX Tournament Party

It’s that time again y’all. Our boys are turning another year older. Kylan’s birthday only comes around every 4 years so we celebrate his birthday on March 1st which is his little brothers birthday. Pretty cool, huh? Koby will be 8 this year and Kylan hits the double digits. It’s so hard to believe!

This is the first year we have had them separate parties. We have always made it a shared celebration, but now that they are getting older I feel like they each have their own set of friends and their own interests.

Up until this year I could get by with one party theme because they seemed to share the same interests, but now whatever it is that Koby is into seems “too immature” for Kylan. If it isn’t the XBOX or sports, Kylan ain’t into it. Sharing their special day was always more convenient for us, but I think it’s finally time for us to set aside each of them their own day that’s all about them.

I decided on an XBOX tournament party theme for Kylan and we had 4 of his best friends over for a sleepover.

I’m usually spending hundreds (yes, hundreds) of dollars on the most perfect invitations, decorations and cake, but I took things down a notch this year. The only decorations I used I made from my new Cricut machine and had cupcake toppers printed off at our local UPS store.

I kept things super simple and decorated the table with XBOX controllers, games, and Gatorade.

For my first Cricut project I made cups for the boys!

We had pizza, chips, dip and cupcakes.

That night there was lots of XBOX, passing football outside, silly string, and cups of coffee at 3 a.m. for me and Jordan.

The next morning we took them to our neighborhood park to let them play basketball.

Even though I’ve still not recovered from being up all night, I am so thankful for the friends that made Kylan’s birthday so special.

To celebrate their actual birthday on Thursday we’re having our families over for dinner, gifts and cake. And coming up on Saturday we will be having Koby’s birthday party. Stay tuned for all of the details!
