I always try to make holidays special for my babies, even when our budget is tight.
For breakfast I made green chocolate chip muffins.

I decorated the house with caution tape before the kids woke up. The giggles that I heard coming from the boys room when they couldn’t figure out how they were going to get out was priceless. $2 caution tape from the Target Dollar Spot was worth the sweet laughter I heard at 7 a.m.

The only purchases I made were Halloween plates for .98 cents at Wal-Mart, a pack of 4 creepy finger bubbles and a pack of 8 vampire fangs, which were only $1 per pack at Target, along with some of their favorite candy. The small bags were .88 cents at Wal-Mart and I made the ghosts with googly eyes and stickers that I already had. I put together this small goody bag for less than $6.

I taped the ghosts to the goody bags

When I packed lunches I used Halloween cookie cutters to make sandwiches.
For Klara’s lunch I used them to cut her turkey and made Halloween colored noodles.

On Monday evening the kids painted and carved pumpkins.

I put the finishing touches on Koby and Klara’s pumpkins and sat them on the front porch to suprise Koby when he got off the bus– horray for the hot glue gun!
Koby wanted his pumpkin to be Little Pigeon and Klara wanted to paint her pumpkin as Pete the Cat

Kylan carved his pumpkin. He wanted to do the high school football team logo, which is also the logo for the junior football team he played for this season.
Go Bearcats!

The boys had Halloween parties at school and brought home so much candy, but we still took them around the neighborhood to trick or treat.

To celebrate, I wanted to share some of my favorite family Halloween photos!

Today I am thankful for the opportunity to make holidays special for my kids. God blessed me tremendously when He saw fit for me to be their mama.
