Peppa Pig Party

On May 28th our sweet girl, Klara, turns another year older.

This year was the first year we have been on a strict budget because of only one income, but sometimes less is more.

Location

When planning an event, even when the budget is tight, there are a few things that you can plan for to make sure less is more.

For instance, last year for Klara’s party we bought bubbles, a volleyball net, badminton, frisbees, and a bean bag toss game to keep all of the kids entertained. We also weren’t on a budget.

I knew that I had to intentionally plan for a location that provided us more for our money this year. The shelter I reserved was beside a playground and a creek. The kids would choose to splash around in that creek over any of the games bought from Target any day.

Party Details

I found these invitations online for FREE.

When I was browsing some of my favorite sites for invitations (Zazzle, Tiny Prints, Shutterfly, and ETSY), I couldn’t believe the cost before shipping! These are not the invitations that I would have chosen, but they were free and got the job done.

My Party City haul is pictured below. I also ordered cupcake toppers, food tents, and popcorn cups from ETSY. Her birthday outfit came from a clearance rack at Target.

We picked up $5 pizzas from Little Caesars to feed everyone for little.

I ordered the cupcakes from our local Food City.

To save a buck or two, Jordan and I made the cake.

This is the most delicious cake I have ever made. It is a family favorite!

I topped her cake with her favorite Peppa Pig toys and three pink candles!

In such a materialistic world, it is so easy to get down on yourself when you can’t throw your kids a Pinterest perfect party. I know because I’m that mom. But today I want you to be reminded that you are doing the best you can, it is enough, and that less is more.
