Hello, December

December is finally here! Our three kids make the holidays extra special so I will be posting about our Christmas crafts, our family traditions, how we celebrate the holidays, how we Christmas shop on a budget for our families, and I will be posting sneak peeks of our home to show how I decorate for the holidays.

To be honest, today was rough. It was my first day back to work after the Thanksgiving holiday and y’all, it wasn’t easy. I found myself closing my eyes and daydreaming about being on our couch in my stretchy pants eating turkey leftovers.

Once I picked up the kids and made it to the house, my husband was already home and running a low grade fever. He asked if we wanted to order pizza for dinner rather than cooking. Our kids squealed with excitement because really, who doesn’t love pizza? We ordered from Pizza Hut since they have an awesome deal going on—two pizzas, bread sticks, and a cookie cake for $20. Ya just can’t beat it.

After dinner the kids done homework while the hubby napped on the couch. I caught up on e-mails, assignments for my classes and made a to-do list for this month. I am planning some fun things for our family within the next few weeks and can’t wait to share the details!

We started a new family tradition this year where we put up our Christmas tree on Thanksgiving morning while we watch the Macy’s Day parade. Isn’t Thanksgiving morning the best? The house smells delicious, everybody is in their warm pajamas and the kids are watching the parade debating over which float is the coolest. Those are the moments I live for, you guys.

Our house is too small for our usual Christmas tree, so this year we bought a 4 foot tree from Hobby Lobby and I love it so much more! The color of the tree is champagne and it came with a strand of clear lights already on the branches. It sales for $69.98, but we got it 50% off and it was worth every dime! The kids decorated it with ornaments they have made over the years and that is what makes it so special. I also bought a small box of glittery gold ornaments to add on a few empty branches.

This little beauty is my most favorite thing about our living room.

If you need me, you can find me sipping hot chocolate and watching a Christmas movie on Lifetime.
