My husband makes the best, what we call, cowboy pie. Every Saturday evening I ask him to throw one together because the leftovers are perfect after church the next day.
Ingredients:
- 2 pie crusts
- 1 pound of hamburger meat
- 1 onion
- 1 green pepper
- 1 stalk of celery
- Salt
- Pepper
- 1 can of Cream of Celery soup
- 1 can of Bush’s baked beans
- 6 pieces of sliced American cheese
Directions:
- Start cooking the hamburger- season with salt and pepper
2. Pre-heat oven to 425
3. Chop up onion, pepper, and celery
4. Add chopped vegetables to the hamburger and continue cooking 7-9 minutes
5. Add the can of beans and Cream of Celery soup to the skillet and mix up well
6. Pour hamburger mixture into pie crusts and bake until crust is golden brown
7. Remove from oven and place the sliced cheese onto the pies
Note: If the cheese doesn’t melt, place pies back into the stove for another 2-3 minutes
